Access to Medicare Rebates

As registered dental and medical specialists, and with oral and maxillofacial surgery being recognised as a principal surgical specialty, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons have full access to the Medicare Schedule for patient rebate on a range of services that they provide. Dental procedures may attract a rebate if you have dental extras included in your private health cover.

Informed Financial Consent

Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, like all medical practitioners, adhere to strict standards in ensuring that our patients are fully informed regarding the costs of their treatment. Patients are encouraged to check your own private health policy to see if a particular procedure might be listed under “Plastic and Reconstructive” procedures, and therefore excluded, depending on your individual policy and circumstances.

What is ANZAOMS?

The Australian and New Zealand Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (ANZAOMS) is the professional representative organisation for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (OMS).

Our focus is on the advancement, advocacy for, and continuing education of OMS, through engagement with all levels of government, regulators, key public and private stakeholders and the general public.
